About the event
Musical Poetry June 30 at 2pm, at Cedarmere - Estate of William Cullen Bryant "Musical Poetry" will feature a program of poetic and nature inspired music from emerging stars of the classical music world. The performers - almost all in their twenties - include National Symphony Orchestra Flutist and Long Island native Matthew Ross; French/Viennese bassist Marc-André, who is redefining the possibilities of the bass and reaching millions of people through social media: virtuoso bassoonist Eleni Katz, who recently won the prestigious Concert Artist Guild Auditions; German violinist Tassilo Probst, who is making headlines in the Europe music scene; Teddy Siegel, the noted soprano, activist, and creator of Got2Go; and celebrated pianist Maxim Lando, who has been lauded by the New York Times for his “brilliance and infectious exuberance.” The concert will also feature the popular OBMF Singers as well as additional prize-winning instrumentalists who are Long Island natives. Music selections will include a beautiful arrangement of Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun for flute and piano, as well transporting works by Ravel, Paganini, Granados, Gershwin, and much more. This is truly a concert not to be missed.
